Super VISA

If you have a super visa, you will be able to travel to see your children or grandkids for up to two years at a time. It is a visa that allows repeated entries for a period of up to ten years and is valid for multiple entries. I Fly Immigration in Mississauga can provide a clear step-by-step process in obtaining a Super Visa in Canada.

In order to qualify for a super visa, you need to meet one of the following requirements: you need to be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.

1. Have a letter inviting you to Canada that has been signed by your kid or grandchild and includes the following information:

  • An assurance of financial assistance for the duration of your trip, including a list of all members of this individual's home and an estimate of its size
  • A copy of this person's citizenship or permanent residency card, if they are a Canadian citizen or resident.

2. Possess medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that meets all of the following requirements:

  • Valid for at least one year starting from the date of admission Minimum coverage of one hundred thousand dollars
  • Bring in a receipt as evidence that the premium for the medical insurance has been paid (quotes are not acceptable).

3. In addition to that:

  • Make your application for a super visa while you are outside of Canada.
  • Be granted permission to enter Canada
  • Attend a medical screening for immigration.
  • Attain several other prerequisites as well.

Note: The application does not allow you to include dependents at this time.

4. Evidence of financial backing or availability of finances. The child or grandchild who extends an invitation to you is the one who is responsible for providing evidence that their home earns at least the required amount. The following items are some examples of proof of money documents that may be used in certain situations:

  • Notice of Assessment (NOA) or T4/T1 for the most recent tax year Employment Insurance stubs Notice of Assessment (NOA) or T4/T1 for the most recent tax year
  • Employment letter that includes pay information and the date of hire Pay stubs
  • Bank statements
